How am I protected against fraud?

Barclaycard customers are 100% financially protected against credit card (Chip & PIN and contactless payments) fraud. As long as you have not been negligent (for example, disclosing your PIN) you are not liable for any fraud which may take place on your account. Your Oyster balance is protected from when you report the card lost or stolen to us.

From time to time, we may call you to ensure that the spending we are seeing on your account is genuine. These calls have nothing to do with your credit worthiness - we are simply trying to ensure that the person using your card is you.
