What will I have to do at the till with my Chip and PIN card?
When you go to a till point that's been converted to Chip & PIN, you should see a PIN pad - a small device with a keypad, a screen and a slot for your card. You or the shopkeeper will insert your Barclaycard into the slot in the PIN pad. You check the amount is correct on the screen and then enter your PIN instead of signing. Make sure that nobody sees you entering your PIN. You will get a receipt to check against your statement later.
As the system rolls out across the UK, you may find some stores are not set up for Chip & PIN. In these cases you should sign to confirm payment as you do currently. It's therefore important that you sign the back of your new card as soon as you receive it.
